Avoid boredom and find ways to increase your productivity so you simply make money blogging and can fully work from home sooner. There are only 24 hours in a day and how you manage your time is critical in earning money from blogging. Trying to be more productive at work isn’t rocket science, but if you are a mom or a someone with disability, it could be a real challenge for discipline and time management.

Productivity is a combination of intelligent planning and focused efforts. Staying productive at home can be a real challenge, especially if you have kids to attend to during odd times of the day. Everybody needs help, but if you are a working mom like me, then you will soon realize that the help you need is all you.

I would advise you create a to-do-list. Perform the simple tasks first and then spend more time with the complicated ones, so you are able to figure out something that would make them less complicated.

If you are faced with tasks that are larger, it would be easier to break them into multiple smaller tasks. Set a designated time to complete the smaller tasks so you do not lose focus on the other items in your to-do-list for the day.

Crossing off things when you are done is one satisfying way to complete a to-do-list. The tasks you have crossed off can be a great talking point for what you have accomplished for the day.

Taking breaks every hour for 15 minutes

My physical therapist told me to take a walk around the house every hour for 15 minutes. People sitting for most of the day are likely to die of heart attacks and develop low back pain.

A study was conducted about the lifestyle of 17,000 men and women over the duration of 13 years. The scientists found that 54% of those people are likely to die of heart attacks.

When you sit most of the day, the body’s enzyme and LPL, breaks down fat in the bloodstream and turns it into energy. The lipoprotein lipase is like to drop when you sit for long and cause the fat cells to build up.

If you spend over 8 to 10 hours at a desk and without moving around much, you will have less energy. Productivity is not measured by the number of hours you sit at a desk. It is measured by how much you get done without sacrificing your health.

One of the major reasons for obesity in the last 20 years is because of the decreased levels of physical activities in a day. Take a break and go for a daily walk.

Sitting is a killer. Many of the work from home individuals sit whole day without thinking of taking a break in-between work. The gallbladder meridian runs up through the hip flexor (in the front of your hip) and the primary trigger point for this meridian is in the gluteus muscles of your booty.

The liver meridian runs up the inside of your legs. When these meridians are constricted and blocked due to constant sitting and lack of movement, their functioning is severely affected.

Performing stretches can keep these meridians open. Take a short break and do a stretch whenever possible. Each stretch takes only a few minutes.

You can interpose them throughout the day or do them in the morning or at night. A few minutes if all you need to unblock the stuck energy. You will feel the difference right away.

Besides gradually losing your social skills, this is one reason I do not recommend young men and women to be working from home full time, especially if they get stubborn and ignore health. Somehow, most of the young ones I told ignored my advice too.

Weed out your distractions

Multitasking is good, but sometimes it slows you down. Manage your time well and work on one task at a time speedily. One study revealed that social media distractions do not affect adults at work alone, but also college students.

If you find you are really falling behind work, then you should consider uninstalling Facebook and Twitter app from your smartphone. I only have the WhatsApp installed on my business phone and the rest on my social media phone.

What I do is to set the Wi-Fi on at my business phone 24/7, but social media is only in the evenings or late afternoons. In the morning, I do my social media microblogging as part of my virtual assistant and blogging tasks.

I have set times for social media postings. I do not open my social media accounts if I do not microblog. They are a major distraction if you use them only to chat. You have to learn how to convert your waking time into money making tasks.

Stop watching too much movies on YouTube and TV

Money is not built on couches. You may want to learn to cap yourself. Watch one movie and one TV show a day. Just imagine how much productivity you gain by substituting TV with your task instead.

Track and limit how much time you spend on each task

This includes your personal tasks. Time management is critical to productivity and happiness. One reason you should learn how to take self-imposed deadlines for each task.

Stick to your self-imposed deadlines and discover how focused and productive you can be when you are watching the clock. This also includes quitting multi-tasking.

Psychologists discovered that attempting to do several tasks at once can result in lost time and productivity. Make it a habit to commit to a single task before moving on to the next assignment.

Turn off notifications

Well, you have your to-do-list for the day and have greatly structured your time. There is no need to set up notifications that can only further stress you. Minimize interruptions including the notifications.

Take a break when you feel mentally fatigued

Take a short walk down the hall or cross the street for a short coffee break. Brief interludes from work can actually increase your productivity by getting your blood flowing and allowing you to return to your work with fresh eyes and mindset.

Keep your workspace clean and clear of clutter

A cluttered desk symbolizes and cluttered mind. Clean up your desk and your room. An organized person can be time saving in all of his tasks.

Avoid large, heavy lunches

Too much eating can leave you feeling full and lazy. Sugary foods and energy drinks keep you going for only a short time, then ruin your ability to work for the rest of the day.

This is true. I have experienced this and is trying to work out my activity for the day with less food, more work, and more physical activity like walking and stretching.

A big meal not only lead you to doze off in your chair or even during work. One study found that a big lunch, even without the effect of alcohol, can make it harder to concentrate on the road, which may result in potentially dangerous driving mistakes.

Men with lighter lunch stay alert than those men who had taken a fatty and sugary meal on a test drive. What is worse is that men under 30 are likely to fall asleep at the wheel after a fatty and sugary meal.

In a fascinating study, a brisk 15 minute walk after each meal could prevent blood glucose spikes.  Moreover, these three 15-minute walks after each meal were shown to be much more effective than a single 45-minute walk.

The principle is the same for us.  Walk after a meal to prevent blood glucose and insulin rises.  If we can keep our blood sugar and insulin as low as possible naturally, without any medications, we can prevent insulin from causing weight gain.  We can put the excess glucose from a big meal or junk food into our muscles instead of into our belly fat.
